Identifying the FleX brake in Windows - Checking the COM Port
Basic information
When you connect the FleX brake to your computer, Windows automatically assigns a dedicated communication port to the device. This port is used to transfer data, such as information about the force of the lever applied, between the brake and the computer.
To use the X4Race Tool software features and adjust your brake settings, the first step is to select the correct port assigned to your brake.
Checking the brake communication port:
1. Turn on your computer, then press the Windows + X keys on your keyboard simultaneously.
2. From the menu that appears, select "Device Manager".
3. In the visible window, find and expand the "Ports (COM and LPT)" section.
4. Disconnect the brake from the USB port, this will refresh the list.
5. Remember, write down, or take a picture of the ports that are currently visible.
6. Connect the brake back to the computer, the list will refresh again. A new port will appear among the ports, which is responsible for communication between the brake and the computer.
7. Remember or write down the brake port name. You will need this information when configuring the brake in the X4Race Tool.
