Search and Connect - Brake Pairing
To modify the brake settings in the program, you must connect the program to the device by selecting the appropriate COM port assigned to the brake. This can be done using the "Search and Connect" panel.
Using the "Search and Connect" box
To connect the brake to the program, follow these steps:
1. Starting the program: Launch X4Race Tool version 2.0 on your computer.
2. Search for devices: In the program interface, click the "Search" button. This option allows you to search for devices that use the transmission protocol used by our devices, among others.
3. Device list: After clicking the "Search" button, the program will display a list of devices available on the network that are compatible with the brake protocol.
4. Brake connection: Select the appropriate port number that is assigned to your brake. This is usually the highest COM port number, especially when the brake is connected to the computer for the first time.
5. Press the Connect button: After selecting the port number, click the "Connect" button. This will establish a connection between the program and the brake.
A successful connection is indicated by the change of the Connect button to Disconnect and the expansion of the tab corresponding to your device version.
Additional tips
- If you are unsure about the selected port number, you can disconnect the brake from the USB port, click "Search" again, then reconnect the brake and click "Search" again. The new position in the list will correspond to the connected brake.
- Alternatively, the COM port number can also be checked using „"Controller Manager" in Windows.
