If you've encountered a problem with your X4RACE handbrake, don't worry - below you'll find the most commonly reported faults and how to fix them. With these tips, you'll quickly get your handbrake back in full working order and back in the game.
The brake doesn't work
Check if the brake is visible in the system game controllers.
The brake is not visible on system game controllers
Check that the USB cable is not damaged.
Disconnect and reconnect the brake to the USB port.
Connect the brake to a different USB port on your computer.
Check that the USB plug is properly connected to the brake.
Restart your computer.
Check that the LED on the brake plate is lit.*
* If the brake does not have externally visible LEDs, look through the hole on the side where the USB cable is plugged in or through the hole in the brake lever. A red glow inside the device indicates that the LED is lit.
The brake is visible in the system game controllers, but is not recognized by the game
Make sure the brake is configured correctly in your game's control settings.
Switch the brake to keyboard mode and assign the handbrake to the key in the game settings Space.
