HU User Manual - Calibration and Functions of the G29 Adapter
The basic function of the adapter is to connect the Logitech G29 device to a PC without the need to use the Logitech base.
The device is equipped with an LED display showing the current gear, and additionally offers advanced configuration using the dedicated X4RACE Tool software.
Connection instructions
To start using the device, follow these steps:
1. The Logitech G29 Shifter must be connected to the connector on the back of the X4RACE adapter
2. Connect the adapter's USB connector to your computer's USB port.
Device calibration:
Automatic
- Unplug the adapter from your computer's USB port.
- Engage gear 1 on Shifter. Connect the adapter to the USB port of the computer.
- After the startup sequence, 1 will be shown on the display.
- Wait until a horizontal line appears on the display. Engage neutral on the Shiter.
- When 6 appears on the display – engage 6th gear on the Shifter.
- Wait until a horizontal line appears on the display.
- Put the gear in neutral.
- Automatic calibration complete.
Manual (using software)
- Disconnect the adapter from the computer's USB port.
- Download the software from https://support.x4race.com/software-versions/ and save it to disk.
- Run (a message about running an application from an unknown source may appear, confirm).
- Click the "Search" button – a list of devices connected to the computer will be displayed.
- Connect the adapter to the computer's USB port.
- Click "Search" again. New devices on the list indicate a connected Adapter.
- Mark them on the list.
- Click "Connect". The program screen will expand and the Adapter settings screen will be displayed.
- Calibration:
- Move the Shifter lever several times.
- Moving the lever will draw lines on the screen.
- Use the grips to set the net between the individual runs.
- Click the Save Settings button.
- Check operation.
Device functions:
Modes of operation
- Manual - gears 1-6 + reverse
- Sequential - gear 3 - higher gear, gear 4 - lower gear (you need to install a sequential mode adapter on the Shifter. (The adapter is not included with the Adapter)
- Handbrake – 4th gear – handbrake (you must install a handbrake cover on the Shifter. (The cover is not included with the Adapter)
To change the operating mode, run the software X4RACE Tool
Adapter Mapping Modes
- Controller – The adapter will be seen as a Controller in the Game Controller Manager and as an additional device in the game settings
- Keyboard – gears will be assigned to keyboard buttons 1-6 + 8(reverse)
Display
The X4RACE Tool software allows you to turn the display on or off (gears displayed on the LED display).
