X4RACE Brake Maintenance (Lubrication) Guide

In the dynamic world of modern gaming, every detail counts. X4Race FleX brakes are a combination of precision and innovation, but because they are mechanical devices, in order to maintain their excellent condition and efficiency, it is worth taking care of their proper maintenance.

This guide will help you keep your brakes in top working order, eliminating any unwanted noises and ensuring a dynamic experience.

A Drop of Perfection: FleX Brake Lubrication

If you notice that your lever is not working smoothly, there are unwanted sounds when pulling, or you simply want it to be in perfect condition, it is worth lubricating it from time to time.

What to lubricate with?

For best results, we recommend using a light-weight lubricant such as specialist oils, lock lubricants, liquid petroleum jelly and products such as WD40. However, remember not to spray the brake directly from the spray can – this can damage the electronics. Instead, apply a small amount of the product to a flat screwdriver and spread it evenly.

How to lubricate?

If the container with the substance has a sharp tip, you can apply it directly. If not, a flat screwdriver will be your ally. Collect a drop of the preparation and apply it to the moving parts. Then, move the lever several times in a calm manner so that the grease is evenly distributed. Finally, remove the excess preparation with a kitchen towel.

How much preparation should I use?

Our recommended amount is one drop of the preparation for each moving node.

Where to lubricate?

On both sides of the brake you will find moving parts indicated in the pictures below. This is where the drops of grease should go.

Why don't we lubricate before shipping?

So why aren’t brakes lubricated before shipping? The answer is simple – we make sure your device arrives in perfect condition. Oil, while essential for functionality, is free-flowing, which can create inappropriate stains and streaks during shipping.
