Brake Calibration - Adjust operating ranges

To adjust the brake travel range, you have the option of performing a calibration that defines the physical limits of the brake lever travel. You can do this by physically engaging and disengaging the lever during manual calibration or use automatic calibration.
Calibration, Auto-calibration

When to Calibrate?

Every X4RACE brake is factory calibrated and configured to the most optimal settings. The need for calibration only arises when you notice that the movement of the brake lever does not correspond to the blue indicator on the right side of the program window or when you observe incorrect operation of the device.

Manual calibration - "Calibrate" button

Follow the steps below to perform the manual calibration procedure:

  1. Open the brake configuration program on your computer.
  2. Click the "Calibrate" button to start the calibration process.
  3. You will be asked to perform several movements of the brake lever in the extreme positions. Pull the lever as far as it will go, then release it to the starting position. Repeat this movement several times.
  4. After performing the lever movements, close the calibration window. The new calibration parameters will automatically set the input range sliders in the program panel.
  5. Check the brake operation by making several test movements. Make sure that the movement of the brake lever corresponds correctly sliders (pointers parameters brake) on the right side of the program window.
  6. Adjust the dead zone and maximum action point sliders according to your preferences. (for details, see the “Analog Mode – Input” guide).

Auto calibration

Under the "Calibrate" button there is a small field with the "Auto calibration" option. This is the simplest way to calibrate, which is recommended to use only in situations where you cannot accurately perform the calibration described earlier.

Activating this option starts the function in which the brake updates and saves the extreme positions of the lever movement each time it is pulled. Selecting this option automatically deactivates the range slider, and the operating parameters are set automatically according to our algorithm.
